British pop icons East 17 say they cannot wait to bring their hits, dance routines and trademark energy to Colne when they headline the Colne Cricket Club Music Festival this September.

With more than 22 million albums sold worldwide, 18 Top 20 singles and four Top 10 albums, East 17 remain one of the UK’s most successful and recognisable boy bands.

Festival-goers can expect a set packed with some of the group’s biggest hits, including House of Love, It’s Alright, Thunder and their timeless Christmas Number One, Stay Another Day. All on a mega £1million live stage, with a big screen.

The band will headline a packed festival line-up which also includes tributes to Oasis, Robbie Williams, Taylor Swift, K-Pop and more.

Ahead of their appearance, East 17 spoke about their excitement at performing in Colne for the first time, covering the Skipton, Barnoldswick, Burnley and Nelson areas, and gave fans a taste of what they can expect on the day.

“We are very excited about headlining the Colne CC Music Festival this year and bringing the energy of our performance to the people of Colne. We haven’t performed here before, so it will be a new experience for us being there.”

East 17 have built a reputation for energetic live shows which combine the different sounds that have defined the band throughout their career. Rather than simply working their way through the hits, they want the crowd to be part of the performance.

“What festival-goers can expect from our performance is a high-energy, crowd-interactive party vibe on stage, with a mixture of hits from pop and dance to ballads and R&B.

“There are a few tracks we love to perform. It’s Alright is one because of the energy it brings on stage, and Stay Another Day because everyone sings along to the Christmas hit.”

For the band, however, a memorable festival is about more than what happens on stage. The atmosphere created by the performers and the crowd, along with good food and hopefully some September sunshine, all help to make the day.

“What makes a great day out at a festival like this is the vibe, great entertainment from the artists, great food, a good atmosphere from the crowd and the sunshine.”

And for anyone still deciding whether to join them in Colne, East 17 have a simple message: come along and experience the show for yourself.

“We would say that if you’ve never seen us perform, and you like going to concerts and festivals, you should come along. There is a lot of energy that we give out on stage, we get the audience involved in some tracks, and there are dance routines and acrobatics all happening, so get yourself along and don’t miss this.”

Tickets are selling fast for the Colne Cricket Club Music Festival, with adult tickets priced at just £25 and family tickets available for £60. There will also be street food and a funfair on the day for families to enjoy.
