Thousands pack Colne CC for spectacular music festival headlined by East 17

What a day!

Colne Cricket Club was transformed into a spectacular live music venue on Saturday as thousands of people came together for an unforgettable Colne CC Music Festival.

From live music and family entertainment to street food, fairground rides and a headline performance from 90s pop icons East 17, there was a fantastic festival atmosphere throughout the day as crowds made the most of a packed programme of entertainment.

Organised by Scott Dawson Advertising, the festival culminated in a brilliant performance from East 17, who had the crowd singing along to a string of their biggest hits, including House of Love, It’s Alright and, of course, Stay Another Day.

There was even a memorable nod to one of pop’s most recognisable music videos when the band gave out white coats to people in the crowd and invited them on stage to perform Stay Another Day with them.

Their headline set rounded off an incredible day of live music, with the Colne CC stage playing host to entertainment for all ages.

Tribute acts celebrating some of the biggest names in music proved hugely popular, with performances featuring the music of Taylor Swift, K-Pop, Robbie Williams and Oasis keeping the crowds entertained throughout the festival.

There was also a fantastic showcase of local and regional talent, including talented Liverpool RnB duo Kulturess, students from Burnley College Musical Theatre and performers from the Helen Green Academy of Dance.

And the music didn’t stop after East 17. Local band Sonus enjoyed their own special moment as they took to the main stage following the festival headliners, bringing a memorable day of entertainment to a fitting close.

Away from the stage, there was plenty happening across the cricket club, with street food bringing flavours from around the world to Colne. Festivalgoers could choose from Thai, Dutch, Greek, Italian and Caribbean, alongside plenty of other tempting options.

Families were also able to enjoy face painting and festival hair, while a colourful selection of fairground attractions added even more to the occasion. A helter skelter, bungee trampolines and mini waltzer ensured there was something to keep younger festivalgoers entertained throughout the day.

Outdoor bars added to the festival atmosphere, while VIP guests in the Clubhouse were treated to an exclusive meet and greet with East 17.

Murray Dawson, Managing Director of Scott Dawson Advertising, said: “A huge amount of hard work has gone into making the Colne CC Music Festival happen, so to see thousands of people here enjoying themselves was absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere was brilliant from start to finish and seeing families, friends and music fans having such a great day together made all that work worthwhile. We’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it such a special event.”

Scott Earing, Treasurer at Colne Cricket Club, said: “It was a really special day for everyone at Colne Cricket Club. Seeing the club bustling with so many people was wonderful, the entertainment was fabulous and there was a fantastic atmosphere throughout. It was great to welcome so many people to the club, and it was an excellent day all round.”
